International Military Music Show With Pipes & Drums

Features All 5 Branches Of The Military With Over 1000 Performers

APRIL 27 - 29, 2019

SATURDAY, APRIL 27

Our travels this weekend takes us to Richmond Virginia and our first stop. A visit to the Agecroft Hall and Gardens. Agecroft Hall was built in Lancashire County, England in the late 15th century. Purchased, dismantled and shipped across the Atlantic to be assembled on the Thomas Williams family estate, it stands today as a symbol of our Elizabethan past, furnished as it might have been in the 15th century and featuring English style gardens.  A gorgeous time of year to view the gardens and to take some ideas home for your own planting. We will have an included dinner at Bistro 27 located in Richmond’s Art District where dinner will be a culinary delight featuring Virginia wines and special appetizers made with local ingredients. We end our day with a tour of Richmond at night.  Our overnight accommodations for this evening and Sunday evening will be the Hampton Inn & Suites. D

SUNDAY, APRIL 28

We begin our second day with a short ride to Norfolk, VA and a tram tour of Norfolk Botanical Gardens. The Norfolk Botanical Gardens offer many different signature and theme gardens for guests to stroll around, such as the Virginia Native Plant Garden, the Bristow Butterfly Garden and the Enchanted forest.  Lunch today is in a gorgeous 143-year-old renovated church and has been a local favorite in the heart of downtown Norfolk for some 30 years.  The food is great and so is the service.  Local folks consider this a holy place.  A spectacular afternoon awaits you as we view the Virginia International Tattoo. This is the largest spectacle of Music and Might in the US offering an astounding display of inspirational military music, majestic massed pipes and drums, show stopping drill team maneuvers, colorful and elegant dancers, and much more.  It’s clear why the American Bus Association has put this Tattoo on their must-see list of the most exciting events in the world.  YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS THIS! Dinner on your own and shopping follow this exciting show at the Waterside Norfolk with a return trip to the Hampton Inn for the evening. CL

MONDAY, APRIL 29

Our last day takes us on a Riverfront Canal Boat Ride and shopping in Carytown before heading home. Voted “Best Neighborhood to Shop in” by Southern Living Magazine readers, this eclectic shopping and dining district presents over a hundred specialty shops and a wide array of culinary experiences to enjoy while in first day in Richmond.  Weather permitting, you may want to dine outside at one of the many café patios. Discover one-of-a-kind gifts along this “Mile of Style” experience.  Wear comfortable shoes as walking is a part of the fun. C
