One of the oldest cities in the U.S., it is regarded as the unofficial “Capital of New England.” Enjoy free time for lunch on you own at Quincy Market. Next, on to the sandy shores of Cape Cod. Extending some 70 miles into the sea, the Cape is home to both natural beauty and quaint colonial villages. A three night stay at the Heritage House Hotel in downtown Hyannis. Dinner is included this evening at the Optimist Café, an historic sea Captain’s home. CD
SATURDAY AUGUST 11
A full day of touring today. We take historic route 6A, the Old King’s Highway to Provincetown. Stopping at the Cape Cod National Seashore Visitor’s Center, sand dunes and the ocean surround us as we approach “Land’s End” – Ptown. The pilgrims landed here first before they decided to settle across the Bay in Plymouth. Take some time to enjoy the wonderful variety of restaurants, shops and galleries that make the artists/fishermen village so unique. This afternoon you may board an excursion vessel for an amazing experience of WHALE WATCHING. See the natural habitat of a diverse marine environment including birds that migrate here from all over the Atlantic. OR you may choose to stay on dry land and go on a DUNE TOUR excursion. Ride through the protected lands of the Cape Cod National Seashore, the largest protected coast line in the country. Your driver will point out the “dune shacks” where famous artists and writers became inspired. B
SUNDAY AUGUST 12
This morning you will have your choice of a guided tour of Hyannis which will include the John F.
