SIMPLY BALTIMORE
JUNE 18-20, 2008
WEDNESDAY JUNE 18 We depart for Baltimore this morning. A bustling city built on tradition and civic pride. It is an American success story. We have a guided city tour upon arrival to get us all acquainted with all of the areas. This evening we have an included dinner at the crown jewel of Baltimore, the Inner Harbor.
D
THURSDAY JUNE 19 Today you will have all day to explore the scenic and popular waterfront area with dozens of retail stores, restaurants and attractions. An all-day pass on the Water-Taxi will be provided. Visit charming neighborhoods, each offering their own character, history and cuisine. See Little Italy, Fells Point and Inner Harbor East. You may also want to visit the National Aquarium, and look through windows on the majesty and mystery of the ocean. Brilliantly colored triggerfish explore a coral reef. Dolphins breach the water in graceful leaps. Sharks glide through a shadowy world just an arm's length away.
B
FRIDAY JUNE 20 We couldn't leave Baltimore without visiting Fort McHenry. The valiant defense of the fort by 1,000 dedicated Americans inspired Francis Scott Key to write "The Star Spangled Banner." Of all the areas in the National Park System, Fort McHenry is the only one designated a National Monument and Historic Shrine. Arrival home early evening.
