McCarter Transit began in 1974 when Jon and Beverly McCarter purchased the Blackhawk School District school bus contract from Blair Ferguson. In 1975,the Beaver Falls School District contract was purchased from James Rhodes. TheNew Brighton School District was added in 1977.
In addition to providing school bus transportation for three local school districts, McCarter offers these services: individual vacation tours to destinations throughout the United States and Canada; charter service for groups to travel to their favorite destinations; and setting up package plans for groups to travel together on sightseeing tours.
OUR COACHES HAVE EXTRA LEGROOM, ALMOST UNHEARD OF IN THE INDUSTRY.
The company owns 14 deluxe motorcoaches (all have extra leg room because McCarter leaves out a row of seats), 90 school buses and 20 minivans.
All equipment is replaced on a rotating basis. Two new motorcoaches are purchased each year. Schoolbuses are replaced at the rate of eight to 10 per year. All of our coaches are wide-bodied, with reclining seats, VCRunits, restrooms and public address systems. This past spring our replacement motorcoaches were the new MCI Renaissance. The Renaissance coach boasts a circular entrance stairway, improved sound and cooling systems, 4 additional step down seats for better viewing out the front windows. And we have developed a new modernized logo for which we have been getting many compliments.
McCarter Coach and Tour has the highest possible safety rating based on the company's safety record and adherence to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
McCarter Coach and Tour belongs to several country-wide organizations, which allows for coach repairs on a reciprocal basis throughout the U.S.
McCarter is a member of the American Bus Association, the United Motorcoach Association and the Pennsylvania Bus Association. |
